At Quantum Traffic, we are proud to have assisted Rob Mills Architects on the St Georges Road residence, a project characterized by its complex traffic engineering components.

Our collaboration aimed to ensure that the design not only met the aesthetic and functional needs of the clients but also respected the natural landscape, built environment, and local community.

The project received enthusiastic and unanimous approval from Stonnington Council. Councillors praised the design as “easy to approve” and “beautifully conceived,” noting that it “fits with the Yarra River environment” and “ticks all the right boxes.”

The St Georges Road site presented significant challenges due to its steep topography, which required careful consideration in the architectural design to accommodate high-end and low-clearance vehicles.

The steep gradients demanded innovative car park design solutions to ensure safe and convenient access for residents while maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the development.

This involved integrating vehicle ramps that complied with local standards and maximising usability without compromising the overall landscape.

Balancing these engineering requirements with the need for a visually appealing structure was essential, reflecting both the luxury of the residence and the natural contours of the land. Through collaboration and creative problem-solving, we addressed these complexities to deliver a design that seamlessly integrates with its challenging environment.
