Quantum Traffic July Update

Many of us face a raft of challenges at the moment, particularly right here in Victoria as we continue to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic and a second stage 3 lockdown.

Despite all of this, the development planning industry hasn’t gone away and we're seeing a continuation of projects flowing through.

We’ve been very fortunate in that we've been able to grow as a business during this period, and continue to service and assist our clients.

To help us continue to grow at Quantum Traffic, we're on the lookout for another staff member - head to our Careers page to find out more.

During this period, we've focussed on fast-tracking our client's projects. While some projects have been postponed to avoid spending during this financially insecure time, the majority of our clients are taking advantage of the slowdown, and we’ve been helping them get their projects moving.

Councils are ready and waiting to help make the process quicker and easier than it normally is, so conditions certainly favour those who can proceed full steam ahead with projects.

We have seen some delays through VCAT, but thankfully things are now progressing - we're certainly getting used to the 'new normal' of online meetings and VCAT hearings!

To date, we have completed three on-line VCAT hearings without a technical glitch.

Will this be the new norm or at least the norm indefinitely?

While there isn't much face-to-face contact, the technology available to us means things can still move forward with business as usual just as efficiently. For example, when discussing plans, Zoom’s share screen function works just as well as a sitting around a traditional boardroom meeting.

With plans being fast-tracked, we'll no doubt see tangible results when the lockdown eases, hopefully leading to a timely economic boom for our connected industries, including construction.

The more things change, the more they stay the same!

Quantum Traffic is as ready as ever to help you on your next development project.
