Overview

The Woolamai to Nyora Rail Trail is a visionary project transforming a former railway corridor into a dedicated shared path for pedestrians and cyclists. Designed to improve active transport options and recreational access, the trail will connect local communities while celebrating the region’s natural and historical significance.

Quantum Traffic was engaged to provide Traffic Engineering Services, focusing on the assessment of road crossing points along the route to determine the appropriate crossing facilities for safe and efficient trail access.

Challenges/Solutions

The key challenge presented by the project was the crossing major roads. Key location requires trail users to cross a high-traffic volume road, necessitating careful planning to ensure safety. Quantum Traffic conducted detailed traffic assessments and proposed appropriate treatments, including grade separation options.
